02 — Why certification matters

More Than a Translation

A certified translation does more than convert words from one language into another. It confirms the translator’s competence and the accuracy and completeness of the translated document.

Complete & Accurate

Faithful translation of the original document.

Certificate of Translation & Accuracy

A signed certification accompanies the completed translation.

Bilingual Quality Review

The translation is checked against the original for accuracy and consistency.

Professional Document Formatting

The document is presented professionally, with attention to structure, headings, tables, seals and relevant visual elements.

Translation, certification, review and professional presentation — handled as one complete service.

07 — Frequently asked questions

Questions About Certified Translations

Everything you need to know before sending your documents to Lingua Franca.

Lingua Franca prepares certified English translations with a Certificate of Translation and Accuracy confirming that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate from the source language into English. These are the core certification requirements established by USCIS for foreign-language documents. Final acceptance and immigration decisions remain with USCIS.

A certified document translation includes the complete English translation together with the corresponding certification of accuracy and translator competence, provided as a signed Certificate of Translation and Accuracy. Lingua Franca also provides bilingual review, quality control and professional document formatting.

Translation-related issues can sometimes delay the review of an application. Common problems include:

Missing certification statement

The translation should include the required translator’s certification.

Incomplete translation

Omitting seals, stamps, handwritten notes, or other information appearing on the original document can affect the completeness of the submission.

Translation errors

Inconsistencies in names, dates, numbers, or other important information may lead to requests for additional documentation or evidence.

Lack of appropriate translation experience

A translation that does not meet the relevant documentary requirements may create complications during review.

Unclear formatting or presentation

A poorly organized translation that is difficult to compare with the original document can make the review process more difficult.

Careful preparation helps reduce these risks and makes the documentation easier to review and submit.

Yes. You can send clear photos or scanned copies of your documents through WhatsApp for review and quotation. We will let you know if a clearer copy is needed before beginning the translation.

Pricing depends on the type, length, complexity and formatting of your documents. Send us your files and we will provide a personalized quote before you decide to proceed.

Turnaround time depends on the number, length and complexity of the documents. Your quote will include the expected delivery time before you approve the service.

USCIS translation requirements call for a full English translation of any foreign-language document, certified as complete and accurate, together with the translator’s certification of competence; notarization is not part of that general requirement. However, another institution or a specific procedure may have additional requirements.

Yes. We handle our clients’ documents confidentially and with appropriate discretion.
